1.科目のねらい・目標
This is a language course which aims to improve English communication skills. Special emphasis will be placed on the ability to communicate fluently and confidently in spoken English, in a variety of situations.
2.授業計画・内容・方法・準備学習等
The course will be taught entirely in English, and the use of Japanese in the classroom will be strongly discouraged.
Students will spend most of their time communicating in spoken English, often in pairs or in small groups. Pronunciation, fluency and clarity will be monitored, and appropriate help will be given to individuals. The atmosphere will be relaxed, and games, role play and other activities will be used to encourage progress through enjoyment.
As well as speaking, there will be practice in listening, reading and writing.
Most lessons will take place in a classroom, but some time will be spent in the LT listening room and the LT computer room.

17 ~ 18 Free time II: 3rd person (vocabulary for sports & leisure, abilities)
19 ~ 20 Review & consolidation
21 ~ 22 Hometown I (types and location, buildings and places, weather, talk about own hometown)
23 ~ 24 Hometown II (towns/places and weather around the world)
25 ~ 26 House and home (types of houses; house, furniture & appliances vocabulary, houses around the world)

29 ~ 30 Speaking test, course overview
There will also be practice of present tenses and definite and indefinite articles throughout the course; however, the main emphasis will be on making active use of English as a means of communication.
N.B. Individual teachers may change the order of topics to meet the needs of students and classes.

No set textbook will be used, but students will be issued with a course outline, and course content will be the same for all groups.

Speaking (60%), reading & listening (20%), and writing (20%) will be assessed during the course.
